One of the mission statements on the Ostrander web site says "....to unify genealogical, historical and biographical research"
However I do not see any mention of Chris' findings. That is a great puzzle to me. Is not OFA's mission to present BOTH sides to this saga - Chris' documented and resourced work, and whatever 'other information' it has. Then let descendants decide for themselves which is valid - ortake it on themselves to conduct their own research.
Chris Brooks has done research, fully supported by sources and sound logic, which disputes the genealogy the OFA has on its website. His work has been published in a scholarly journal. He and I jointly published a followup to Chris' original research, in that same scholarly journal.
You say that you have "have received information that contradicts the other researcher" but what is that information? What are the sources? I have looked through the OFA website and do not see any new sources.
In the interest of genealogical truth, why not present ALL research findings? Let visitors form their own conclusions as to which set of findings is the most lucid and factual. Which are backed by primary sources? Which are not?
It is very disappointing to see that no progress has been made since the articles were first published in 1999 and 2000
