Deborah and David were the brother and sister of my 5th-great-grandparents, David Otis, Sr.(b. Scituate, MA 6 April 1748; d. there 14 December 1828) and Mary Vinal (b. Scituate, 02 December 1752; d. there 10 May 1818.)
Deborah's parents were Job Otis, Jr. (b. Scituate 28 March 1702 d. Aft. 12 December 1781) and his wife Prince.
"Job lived first in Hanover, near Circuit St., in the Drinkwater section, where he was a member of the church in 1728/29. He inherited the farm on which his father resided, described as 'on both sides of the road being about 60 acres with the buildings & my three acres at Buck's field & my seven acres of salt marsh on the east & west side of Damon's creek next the beach, also my 30 acres of woodland cedar swamp near the mill brook also about 60 acres of uplande meadow which I bought of William Ticknor and others joyning to Scituate harbour also about one hundred acres of land which I bought of Thomas Clark and others with the buildings on both sides of the way at a Place called the Clay pits.'
"On 14 Nov. 1746 Job Otis Sr. and Job Otis Jr., both of Scituate, yeomen, granted land in Albington and Hanover to Abigail Halliburton of Boston, widow, dau. of Job Otis Sr. Mercy wife of Job Sr. and Prince wife of Job Jr. renownced dower.
"The will of Job Otis of Scituate, yeoman, dated 12 Dec. 1781, names wife Prince; dau. Eunice; sons Job, David, Prince and Abijah; daus. Mercy Curtis, Thankful Otis, Betty Sutton and Deborah Vinal.
