I was stunned when I read your entries and queries about a George Overholt, his wives and children. Perhaps I can clear up a little bit of the information about my grandfather (see below), but you both seem to have information that I have been seeking for a long time.
My father always said his father had been married several times, and that he had a few half-brothers.He said Ralph was a half-brother, but Uncle Ralph's widow said his birth certificate listed George and Esther, so my family tree lists both brothers as sons of my grandparents. However, that marriage, I believe, was George's third, so there was a lot more to the story that I have needed to know.
One clue:My mother told me Ralph was married to a Canadian woman after WWII, and that he lived in Canada for a while. Therefore, perhaps my grandfather was married to a Canadian, too, for a while. He was "on the road" a lot as a musician.Anyway, if we three can get the facts in order, maybe a BIG mystery will be solved!
My GeoCities web site has a nice photo of my father and his brother, Ralph, and can be found listed under "Found Bottles & Artifacts."I am begining this family tree with Abraham Overholt, because you can see the rest of the data on my web site.
