• Several sources list an Alic Owenby as a son of George W. and Tempy Bristol. There is no census record to back that up.
Several sources give 4/15/1853 as Alic’s birthdate with the placename “Flacstall, AR” given as either his birthplace or his residence. There is no such place.Frank lived for a while in Flagstaff, AZ where several of his children were born.It doesn’t seem much of a stretch to see that a mistranscription of Flagstaff, Arizona could result in “Flacstall, AR”.
An Ancestry.com search for an Alic, Alec, Alex or even Alexander with this birthdate yields no results other than Robert Alexander Owenby, born to Joseph and Angeline (Crisp) Owenby, Frank Alexander Owenby and Porter Alexander Owenby.
