Re: David Owens b. 1829 Davidson County NC
David Owen/Owens was the son of James Owen/Owens. The James Owens cemetery is located off of Floyd Church Rd near Hwy 8 in Davidson Co. There are MANY unmarked graves and some marked only with initials and a few with names but no dates. Death certificates reveal the names of some buried there. The death cert of Hannah C Beck (Hannah Catherine "Cassie" Owens, daughter of David Owens and Crissie Styers and wife of Albert C Beck states she was buried in the Owens Cemetery. David's daughter Julia Ann Owens (died single in 1957) was also buried there. In addition there are stones for the other children and many grandchildren of James Owens and Barbara.
One of James Owens' daughters was named Nancy. She never married and was still alive on the 1910 census. I have not been able to find any records for her estate, but it appears her land was divided between the heirs of her brothers and sisters - including Bertie Regina Owens Kinney, daughter of Phillip Owens who was son of David Owens.

James Owens had quite a few children. I've proven 14 so far and might have missed one or two. I have not yet proven his parents.
