My 3g grandfather, Michael OYER/EYER and his wife, Dorothea with their 4 children, Anna Bertha, Christian, Henry and Andrew, came to Pittsburgh after 1830 and before 1837. In 1837 there is a deed where he bought land. They bought and sold land in Lower St Clair, Pitts township, 7th Ward, and West Liberty. They were members of the Smithfield German Evangelical Church and part of the family is buried in the Smithfield Cemetery and part is buried in Homewood.
Dorothea died in 1869 and Michael married very soon after to a widow, Magdalena MERKLE. 2 of his sons, Christian and Henry died young in life. They were tobacconists. Their families migrated to Ohio. Anna Bertha married Michael WILLRICH and remained in Pittsburgh. Andrew and his family remained in West Liberty.
I haven't found where Michael and Magdalena are buried. I haven't found a record of their marriage. I haven't found how they arrived in Pittsburgh from Prussia, the location is Millhausen, Thuringia.
Any information about this family will be very welcome indeed.
