"Uncle" Johnnie Ozier, the well known colored resident, has been ill at his home in NorthRiver street. Mr. Ozier is 90 years of age and owing to his advanced years, his relatives and friends are apprehensive concerning his condition. In December next, Mr. Ozier, if he lives, will celebrate the ninetieth anniversary of his birth and he is one of the historical characters of the Fox river valley. He came to Batavia shortly after the close of the Civil war, after serving as a slave since boyhood. He has continued to make this place his home since that time. A few weeks ago, Mr. Ozier's wife died and since then his health has not been of the best.
