There is a wonderful article in the Ray Co. History book a reprint 1973Ozias
Antonie Ozias a tailor for Vivarois (near Priva France) m Isabeau Lormeiasse 1701-02 moved to Waldense Community. Chidlren dau, Jeanne b 6-21-1701 (first Ozias to American in 1751) and a son Etienne (Stephen) Ozias d 1752 m 1722 Elizabeth Maneval d 1753?.the latter lived in Durrmenz and Ludwigsbury and had 9 children.
On March 30 1753 Elizabeth and 3 children wer granted permit to emigrate to Pa. and sold most of her property.A 9th son Jean (John) Ozias b 1742 d 1825 m 1767 Elizabeth Fall (fahl) b 18738 d 1826.
John b in Ludwigsburg, when 11 years old (9-15-1753) arrived Philandelphia on ship "Lydia" wnet to Germantown Pa, where he grew up, latere moved to Reading Pa. In 1767 m Elizabeth and presumably lived with her folks until spring of 1771 when they and 2 children moved to Guilford Co. N.c. John worked as a farm hand or rented land until 1780 when he paid taxed on 125acres.They had 3 sons an 6 daughters. (5 Ozias children married 5 Christman children) In 1803 John and Elizabeth (then 61 and 65) along with approximately 18 members of their family moved to Warren Co. Ohio via wilderness Trail (6 weeks journey) later settled in Preble Co. an din 1804 started acquiring land.
Their second son b in Berks Co. Pa John Petere ozias b 1769 lived in Ohio and had 7 children.their second son Jacob Ozias b 1797 d 1863 m Sarah Potterf b 1799 d 1871 farmers. lived in Ohio and had 8 children
thier 5 th son Jacob Anderson Ozias b 1830 d 1911 m Lavinia Royer b 1837 d 1926.The alond with 3 of Lavina;s siters and their families (Stoner, Roop and Leady) moved from Ohio to Johnson Co. Mo.
