It's hard to know when Big and little Peach Tree Creeks were named. The Peach Tree Creek of 1770, from the survey of that year, was located between Fishing River and Swift Creek. Beaver Dam swamp, the Big and Little Peach Tree that flow into The Stony, were all unnamed on that map. Since the Pace's of 1770 lived between Fishing River and Swift Creek, very close to the Peach Tree Creek of that time, it is likely the Pace Branch of Peach Tree Creek of that time was north of Swift Creek. It is also likely Errasmus Culpepper was seeking land close to his land on Fishing Creek.
