William Pace (b. 1814) m. Amzy Riggins, said to be daughter of James Riggins and Margaret Edwards.
Margaret Edwards is said to be a daughter of Sterling Edwards and Saline Cobb.Another child of Sterling Edwards, reportedly, was William Edwards, b. June 16, 1811 in Ashe County NC, d. November 05, 1889 in Shawswick Twsp, Lawrence County, Indiana.
If these names and dates check out, William Edwards would be Amzy Riggins' uncle.
The GLO site shows that William Edwards had land very near James Pace's land that he (James Pace) patented as assignee of Reuben and Hiram Kilgore in 1728.These Kilgores were from Ashe Co NC and were related to the McBrides, also from Ashe Co NC.
So, reasoning on the basis of likely proximity, William Pace who married the niece of William Edwards might well have been the son of James Pace who had land near William Edwards.
But unfortunately it doesn't tell us whether this James Pace was the one from Clay Co KY or the one from Ashe Co NC.He's certainly surrounded by people from Ashe Co, which may suggest he's more likely to be also from Ashe Co.
