That's a question that can only be answered by working back one generation at a time.
Moses Woodruff, who was one of James Pace's neighbors in Lawrence Co, was a son of John Allen Woodruff, whose sister Lydia Woodruff married Burwell Pace in Surry Co NC.
James Pace of Lawrence Co Indiana could be related to that Surry Co family of Paces. That would be the first possibility I would consider, if I were in your place.
Descendants of the Surry Co Paces have participated in the Pace DNA study, and the results don't match the results of the descendants of Richard Pace of Jamestown as outlined in Adventurers of Purse & Person.I don't think your wife would be accepted for the Jamestowne Society on the basis of descent from the Surry Co Paces, but you could check this with the Society.
There's also the possibility, albeit fairly slight, that James Pace did NOT descend from the Surry Co Paces, so bear that in mind while searching.
