Re: Paul Paille
I acquired quite a bit of info on Paul Paille since I posted this.Paul Paille is found in the 1851 census in St. Jean, Chambly County, Quebec (as "Paul Payer when transliterated) living with mother Marg. Bastarache and his brothers, Elie, Charles, and Francois. Francois, the brother, had a Protestant marriage near Hamilton, Ontario to Harriet Craig. Francois Paille moved to Clinton, Huron, Ontario in 1861, then back to St Jean, Quebec in 1871, and then on to South Hadley, Hampshire, Massachusetts in 1880 and was recorded as watchmaker. In France the ancestors initially came from Ber-Sac-Rivalier/Hautte-Vienne. This family has been archived very well all the way back to Leonard Paille born in 1647 in France.
Paul Paille died in Griffin (Spaulding County) Georgia in 1894.He was a watchmaker there and had a shop in town.
