Michael Pakenham of Westmeath, c. 1700
I'm looking for a Pakenham in Westmeath. My target is Michael and Ann Pakenham. There is a Michael Pakenham I'm interested in in Griffith's Valuation, listed in Westmeath, Granard, Moygoish Barony, Street Parish, Correaly townland. Can anybody give me any clues as to how this Michael fits into the family?
I'm hoping to confirm that Michael of Westmeath is the patriarch of my American family -- Michael and Ann.Michael and Ann had at least two children.
Patrick was born in 1815.He married Ann, born 1818.They had at least three children in Ireland -- Mary, born 1840; Eliza, born 1842, Ann, born 1844.Catherine was born in 1846 on the ship to America.Several more children were born in New York:Sarah, 1847; John, 1850; Ellen, 1854; Harriet, 1854; Letitia, 1856; and William, 1860.
Has anyone ever run into either my Michael and Ann Pakenham, or Michael Pakenham of Westmeath, Street parish, who may (or may not) be the same fellow? Thanks for any suggestions!
Kirk
