Subject Patrick Pakenham (Possibly son of Michael Pakenham)
Born about 1816 in Ireland....He married Ann Engleston and they had several children, they left Ireland in 1847 and traveled to Liverpool England where they boarded the ship Ellerslie and traveled to America. It is believed three of their daughters left with them and the fourth was born on board the ship. They reached the port of New York and according to the 1850 Federal censis lived at 649 13th St. in Manhatten.Patrick ,was my father Walter Pakenham's grandfather. Patrick's son William, the last born of his children was my grandfather.I did not meet any of Patrick's children (except my grandfather William who died in 1931, I was three at the time .I do remember my Dad speaking about his Aunts (there were eight of them).Patrick died March 17,1883 and is buried in Lutheran cemetery Middle Village Queens, N.Y.
