Hi Jakov:
I’m still here, but I agree with you. This forum does look abandoned and forgotten. I wish some of the other Palcics out there would liven it up a bit.
Sorry I didn’t get back to you on this before, but I did look at the different places that the Palcic families lived in Croatia in 1948. I looked most of them up on the map. Some of those little villages really looked like they were out in the middle of nowhere. It’s very interesting how they were spread around back at that time. I can just imagine how many more there are now.
Funny how you picked this particular day to post. This evening I was talking on the phone with a member of the Palcich family in Chisholm, Minnesota. His son is working on a school project and was interested in the meaning and origin of the Palcic name. I brought up your name and suggested he read the postings regarding the subject on our Palcic page. Their Palcic family (three brothers) came from Pudob in Slovenia, very near Vrhnika pri Loz*u, where mine came from.
I also continue to look for your great grandfather. Every once in a while I come across a “hot lead”, usually an alternate spelling of the Palcic name, but they never seem to pan out.
Wishing you well,
Daniel
