I am descended from John Henry Palmer who lived in the Poplar & Limehouse area prior to and during WWII. Some of his children lived in the Canning Town area or eastwards e.g. Amy Palmer. Other children were Hilda, Doris, Cyril, Albert, Irene (Ivy), Ruth, Phyllis, Gladys and Violet.

John Henry's parents were George Joseph Palmer and Selena Polkinghorn. They ran their own business, G. J. Palmer & Sons (General Merchants) at 6, 8 & 10 Poplar High Street around the turn of the century.

Any connection?

Regards,
Alan Taylor
