Hola Luis III:
This is your sister -- my actual name is Laura Palos y Roybal.I am Luis Palos and Barbara Roybal's daughter. Our aunts, Maria Beatriz and Maria Cristina, are also important components of our legacy.
I can tell you that our grandfather Jesus Palos had several brothers, but one by the name of Francisco Palos came from San Antonio to visit him shortly after his death, not knowing of his demise.
Our grandmother, Luz Orellana, was from Mexico City. Our relatives on that side of the family are Saucedo (Berta Otanez was descended from the Saucedo's) and Macias, cousins of ours who were very tiny in stature and affectionately referred to as "The Little People" although their sons, who are the same age as our father, were over 6 feet tall.
It is known that the first Palos was on the Manifest of Christopher Columbus' maiden voyage to the New World, that Manifest was known as "El Listo De Los Muranos" due to the fact those on it were escaping the Inquisition during Ferdinand and Isabela's campaign to Christianize all of Espana. It is interesting to note that Monterrey became a large Sephardic Jewish settlement during the 15th century and our family in particular carried forward many traditions (i.e., lighting candles on the Sabbath) although we have been Catholic for many generations.
