I descend from Meshack Perdue and know of no proof to his ancestry. William Perdue of Montgomery Co., VA looks like the best candidate. The source you are looking for as follows:
Early Virginia Families Along the James River by Foley pg. 31. On 20 Oct 1689 Edmund Jennings Esqr., patented 6,513 acres on the North side of the James River for importing 131 persons.......including John Pardoe (Bardoe). (doesn't fit the 1685 birth in Worcestershire, England?)
The following is an alternative theory:
Chesterfield-An Old Virginia County by Francis E. Leetz
"William Perdue, a French Huguenot, received a patent of 140 acres "beginning at Richard Wood's corner white oak on the east side of Saponey Creek and adjoining the land of John Keenon near Skinquarter" in 1744. John Perdue in 1746 patented 400 acres adjoining the land of Thomas Puckett and Belcher on the south side of Saponey Road....etc."
There were three boatloads of French Huguenots transported to Virginia in early 1700's. They settled near old Indian Village Manakin town Henrico County...one passenger listsurvived...no Perdues or variations.
