Hi:
My gggg grandfather was Capt. Josiah Parsons b-3/19/1750 who mar. Sarah Sewall . He was a brother of Joesph. Josiah was a minute man who fought at Concord-Lexington and at Bunker Hill, Haven't any info on Joesph except his birthplace, York , Maine and birth date which you have. Perhaps he too was involved in Revolution. I found Josiah's grave on Westport Island in Maine.
Their father was Gen. Elihu Parsons born York, Me.3/31/1674-died 7/30/1730 mar Ruth Wilson , daughter of Sgt. Joesph and Hannah (Endle) Wilson.
His father was John Parsons and mother Elizabeth. Last name not found. His roots are uncertaain. He was a shoemaker and was in York in 1677. In 1691 the town was attacked by indians and John was one of 75 persons killed. 3 of his children were carried away by indians. and brought to Quebec. 2 later returned and one Mercy stayed and mar a Frenchman.
John's wife who escaped later remarried.
Hope this helps some- Chuck
