Walter, I got my copy of the Will of Charles Partin/ Partain out of my files to check on his childrens' names. It was probated 5 June 1812 in Edgefield Co.SC which borders the state of Georgia on the south. He had four daughters, of whom Mary Agnes was one, and three sons. They were William, Charles and Ezekiel. He named Arthur Watson and his son Charles sole executors of his estate. He gave 440 acres to his eldest son William and 200 acres to Charles and Ezekiel to be divided between them.Your Charles born in 1789 is, I'mcertain, the son of one of the sons of the original Charles born in Surry Co. VA. The date you quoted would certainly be compatible with that assumption. So the question you will have to solve is which son? William, Charles or Ezekiel. Since the first Charleswas the father of all three, each could have named a son Charles. All you have to do is figure out which one was your ancestor. Hope this is of some help. Since William was the first born I would start with him.
