I have a number of Paskaly ancestors who lived in Hungary in early 1800's. Their ancestry seems to be pointing to Germany.
I found several Pascaly and Paskaly families in Germany near the French border, and a few Pascaly-s in France.
I believe, that the root form of these names is PASCAL. Could anyone suggest any reason, why the "y" ending may have been added to Pascal? Does the "y" ending signify anything in the French or in any other language?
Does anyone know of a connection between Pascal and Pascaly families?
