Susannah Patteson was the daughter of Littleberry Patteson and Matilda Smith. Littleberry was a revolutionary was veteran.Littleberry's ancestry:

The earliest Thomas Patteson above immigrated to Virginia in 1629 aboard a Spanish frigate in a group of 33 persons headed by Francis Eppes.Thomas eventually acquired land and built his plantation "Roxbury" in New Kent County near the county line with Charles City County.David Patteson, above, was a member of the Vestry at St. Peter's Church there, and he and his family appear frequently in the parish records there throughout the early to mid 1700's.Littleberry Patteson settled in Campbell County.His family operated the Clover Hill Tavern at Appomattox across from where Lee surrendered to Grant.The tavern is part of the Appomattox historic site.If you have more specific questions I'll try to help.
