Thank you for the follow up Lewis.. I appreciate the offering of family genealogy for my cousins.
Now, if I could just find what happened to my GGG Aunt, Mary (Polly) Chancey/Peacock who married James T. Peacock, son of John Peacock & Elizabeth. James died during the Civil War:
"A report of sick and wounded states James T. Peacock died on 14 Sept. 1862, at Camp Winder Hospital, in Richmond, VA. The cause of death was listed as "debilitas " which could mean that he was either very sick or wounded."
The last we find Polly Peacock and her children was in 1880 Charlton County, GA. The family had gathered there after their mother, Rebbecca Kennedy Chancey, died in February 1880.
The children were:
Abraham Peter Peacock b April 1854 Ware County, Georgia
Samuel Peacock b. c Pierce County Georgia
John R. Peacock b. c 1860 PierceCounty Georgia
Rebbecca Peacock b. c 1862 PierceCounty Georgia
Abraham apparently married Josephine Peeples December 25, 1888...had two known children, Isham and Mary...may have been his second marriage.
In the 1910 Ware census Josephine said she has had 5 children, only two have survived.
Any info at all concerning what may have become of Polly and her children will be much appreciated...they seem to have vanished after 1880, except for Abraham.
