Someone on Rootsweb was asking about the same person. Their post:
Does anyone have information on James Peaden who married a Muhaly (Head?), had two daughters joined the civil war in March 1962 and died in April 1862. Served in Jackson Co. Georgia area. Who were his parents?? Must have been born about 1830. Any help much appreciated. 9/2/2006
On the 1860 census, there are two James Peadens living in Georgia:
1860 Georgia census Monroe county Unionville township James Peaden age 26 male white farmer born GA M. A. Peaden age 23 female white b. GA Frances Peaden age 3 female white b. GA M. E. Peaden age 2 female white b. GA Minta Peaden age 9/12 female white b. GA
next door is another James Peaden, age 33, with wife Sarah and children William E, Mary, L. E., M. A, J. T, J. M., &S.W.
All I know about the William J. Peaden I'm looking for is that he was born in North Carolina about 1827 and his mother was maybe named Martha. I'm sure he had siblings, and James may be a nephew. I wish I knew. I don't know how or when he came to Alabama, but sometime around 1850 I would guess.
