My mother's mainden name was Pearse. She has been looking for information relating to her grandfather's family tree for a number of years now - that part of the family originated in Devonport. I forwarded your message to her, and have included her reply below:
"I was sothrilled to have your mail.I am longing to know something about my paternal granfather’s family All I know at present is that his name was Richard Pearse (an architect/surveyor),and his father was Richard Pearse too ,who was listed as a farmer on his sons (my grandfathers marriage certificate).I would love to know my great grandmothers maiden name, and more about the family.I have a photograph of her,and I also have a photo of my grandfathers sister, including her husband and two children.—I do know her married name but I can’t remember it now.I know my grandfather had a brother who emigrated to Australia and became an emminent judge over there. I think his name was James but I am not sure. There was also another brother who had a farm on Dartmoor. My grandfather went to Devonport grammar school, and was born some time in 1873,because he died aged 38 onApril 29th 1911.He died in S Wales (Pontyclun). He was an architect with a Cardiff firm involved in the then “new civic centre”."
Any further information would be greatly appreciated. My mother can be contacted by e-mail, but I do not have her address on me at present. I shall send it from home if you are interested in contacting her.
