Brenda,I too have a Pearson connection in the same area. It is a second Pearson connection as I am by surname also a Pearson. This second Pearson connection is described below: Can you help?
I have a second PEARSON line that happens to be on my Mother's side. My mother's maiden name is ALVERSON. She is a twin daughter of Ollie Mae GREEN and Orean Broadus ALVERSON. Orean B. ALVERSON is a son of Charles Agustus ALVERSON and "Maggie", (Margaret) WOOTEN, and grandson of Jesse C. ALVERSON and Harriet Matilda PEARSON. Harriet was born abt. 1838, probably in South Carolina. Harriet and Jesse married in Greenville County, SC. abt. 1859. Harriet is said to have died "mysteriously" abt 1872 in Greenville County, SC., soon after the birth of their last child, Jesse Edward ALVERSON. Some have suggested by suicide as a result of postpartum depression. I am very interested in identifying Harriet's ancestry as I suspect my mother and father to be distantly related since my paternal PEARSON lineage traces back through SC., as well. I do have a suspicion that Harriet's mother is a Sarah by the following census evidence: Harriet Matilda and Jesse were living near a Sarah PEARSON in 1860. The 1850 Census shows a household headed by Sarah PEARSON, age 40, and containing the following persons: Mary, age 21; William, age 20; Harriet, age 18; Mourning, age 12; Jefferson, age 14; and James,
