Edmund Pearson 1798-1948 Methodist Circuit Rider
I am looking for information about the parents of Edmund Pearson (1798-1848).He was born in Georgia, died Talladega County, Alabama and is buried in the Stone Family Cemetery.He married Cynthia Hardwick on November 24, 1824 in St. Clair County, Alabama.Edmund’s parents died young and he was raised by a preacher from the Methodist Church in Greene County, Alabama.Edmund was a Methodist Circuit Rider and a Presiding Elder of the Tuscaloosa District, Alabama Conference.He was also a rider for the Chickasawhay Circuit, Cedar Circuit, Cahawba Circuit, Holston Conference, Hiwassee, Knoxville District and many others. Edmund became ill at Marion, Alabama two months prior to his death, but returned to Talladega County, where he died on September 21, 1848. His will mentions his wife, but none of his children are listed.His obit states he had 11 children. Seven of his sons became Methodist preachers. Any information on his parents would be greatly appreciated.
