Peyton (Payton)was the son of Ambrose Peavy and Lavinia (Vinny) Rowland, married 12/10/1794, in Warren County, GA. Ambrose received land in the 1805 GA land lottery for Warren County. 1805: (Peevy) Georgia Census; Zachry's District, Warren County, Georgia 1818: (Peevy) North Carolina Census; Huberts District, Warren County, North Carolina(This is not a typo, actual source states NC not GA, does not make sense to me and I have not had the opportunity to check it out yet) Believed moved to MS in 1819. 1820 Census: (Pevey) Unknown Townships, Amite County, Mississippi, Image 37, Roll M33_57, Page 28. 1860 Census: (Peevy) Columbia Township, Marion County, Mississippi, Page 0932 War of 1812: Private, 3 REGIMENT (FEW'S), GEORGIA MILITIA. Roll Box 161, Roll Exct 602. Children of Ambrose were: Peyton (cannot find a birth date), Archibald (1797), Little Berry Sr (1799), and MAry (between 1804 and 1810). I do not know if there were other children. Peyton is listed in the 1840 Census for Lawrence Co. Charlotte (b. 6/1819) remarried to William Wallace (Wallis) Givens and had three more children. Charlotte's parents were Levi Netherland and Elizabeth Smith (daughter of Isham Smith/Sarah Harbin). Levi's lineage was father=William Netherland (Neatherlin)/Rachel Fenner (daughter of William Fenner/Rachel Austin), grandparents=James (1725, VA) and Mary Netherland, ggrandfather=James Netherland, 1684. I would be interested in comparing notes for Peavy and Givens. I have multiple Givens in my line, but cannot connect them to each other.
