Peddles of Bristols Hope aka Mosquito - 1700's
My research into the Peddle genealogy started in the 1990’s primarily through conversations with members of my family, specifically my Great-Aunt Beatrice, who was able to provide me with some clues about my family’s history. In addition to speaking with relatives, Ivisited the New England Genealogy Society in Boston, read books about Newfoundland, and communicated with people on genealogy web sites. But the most beneficial research I conducted was to visit Newfoundland and it's provincial archives in St. John's. Throughout my research I have tried to separate the tales from the truth however, most of the tales that I have encountered may have some aspect of the truth associated with them.
I am still trying to find information on the parents of
I. Samuel Peddle*, Married to Elizabeth (?) records show that they baptized their children (Jane and George) on the same day. No DOB given
IIa. Jane Peddle*, baptized 4-21-1783
IIb. George Peddle*, baptized 4-21-1783 (Born 1777?) Married Mary (?)
*indicates the name was erroneously recorded as "Piddle"
Feel free to contact me if you have info or need info.
P.S. If you make it up to St John's you'll find the food to be outstanding and the pints to be cold...visit George St.
