Thanks for info on the Peels. Looks like they did not come from NC at all.
I descend from the Browns and Hamiltons who must have migrated before 1837 from what is now Union Co. NC. on the now eastern edge of Monroe NC. I am very familiar with the Bell family.
In fact I just spent a month studying the "Heritage of Union Co. NC." Alexander Bell was a postmaster at the old Richardson Creek PO which was located near the immediate south of now Lake Twitty. The PO was closed and moved to Monroe around 1843.
Archibald Brown owned land there about 1 miles east on Richardson at Bearskin creek.
My Browns and Hamiltons may not have come with the Bells who seems like they came in 1838.
The Hamiltons and Browns lived near each other in Macon Co.
