I am trying to trace a Peers family member, DUNCAN TAYLOR PEERS, born 1879 in Rostherne, Cheshire , second son of James and Annie (nee Taylor) Peers. His older brother was James and his younger brother Donald (killed in action in WW1). Duncan Taylor Peers was a seaman and sailed on whaling ships. In 1901 he married Virginia Emily Stroud in Port Adelaide, South Australia. She died in 1905 and in December 1910 he married Annie Whyte in Port Adelaide. In 1911, he sailed on the SY Aurora as Bosun with Douglas Mawson's expedition to the South Pole. He returned to Australia in March 1912 and after that I cannot find any references to his life or death. In 1930, his second wife, Annie Peers, placed 2 advertisements in Tasmanian newspapers seeking anyone knowing the wherabouts of Duncan Taylor Peers. I would greatly appreciate any family member who may have some knowledge of Duncan Taylor Peers. Thank you.
