Anna Clarke Pell (Mrs Duncan C. Pell)
For research purposes am seeking any and all information about Anna Clarke (1817-1899), daughter of George Hyde Clarke, the builder of Hyde Hall (http://www.hydehall.org). She married, in 1834, Duncan Campbell Pell, the future lieutenant governor of Rhode Island, and had three children: Georgina Clarke (1835-1851), Duncan Archibald (1842-1874), and Henry Leslie (aka Leslie Pell-Clarke, 1853-1904). I would like to locate any Pell-family records, including but not limited to letters, diaries, photographs, works of art, et cetera, to study for relevant details about her life and that of her father (George Hyde Clarke), her mother (Ann Low Cary Cooper Clarke), her siblings, and also of Hyde Hall, including firsthand accounts of life there. I am also searching for Anna Clarke Pell's wedding dress from 1834—if it still exists, I would like to locate it for inclusion in an under-development costume exhibition at Hyde Hall.
