Hello, Frank,
I regret that I did not view your 2009 message until now. I'm pleased to recognize some names that you mentioned, from San Vito.

Your uncle, Peter Alongi: I was very excited, at first, thinking he might be/have been my mother's first cousin with same name; however, the Pete Alongi whom I knew so well was married to 'Enza'.This, I assume, was a nickname for 'Vincenza'.This Pete Alongi passed in Dec. 2007/Jan. 2008 (age 87)and Enza passed a couple years before him.Their children are Anna (Alongi) Abissini and Josephine/'Josie' (Alongi)LaFata. All from from Detroit area.

Monaco:I also knew a Pete Monaco & his wife; I recall her vividly but not her name - maybe Maria. They were related to my mother & grandfather, Russell Pellegrino. These Monaco's might not have emigrated to the USA until around 1950.

My Pellegrino and Alongi cousins were well-connected with relations in Canada, many of whom I met at weddings and gatherings throughout my life, even as recently as a few years ago (when a fabulous Canadian band played at a Pellegrino-Sugameli wedding).

By chance, did you or your father work at Ford Motor Co. in Canada?I have stories to share and fond memories of many people whose names I do not recall, distant San Vitorelations and their friends. Please send an email to [email protected] was your mother's maiden name?

Thanks, Frank (Grazie)
Lucinda
