I am researching this family line for a friend of mine. We are trying to determine who Marie's parents were. THere is rumor that her mother was the daughter of an Indian Chief. But can't find info to prove that. Any ideas? Sent to friend from her uncle: This is what we know so far:
Short history of Pellerin Family
A daughter of the chief of the Pointe Bleu/Mashteuiatsh tribe (on lac St Jean in northern Quebec, married a French Canadian named Pelletier. Their daughter was my grandmother, Marie. She married Doctor Alcide Pellerin. They emigrated to Massachusetts , where they produced 9 children, one of which died in infancy.. Doctor Pellerin died fairly young and Marie re-married a man named Contre , who also died soon after. Her name on her obituary was Marie Pelletier Pellerin Contre .The surviving children were:
Wilfred – wife Helen, kids Dennis, Alcide, Roy, Marjorie Oscar- wife Yvonne Romeo (Doc) – wife Alice, kids Richard, Alice, Linda Arthur – wife Nellie, kids Francis, Lillian, Shirley Francis kids: Ann Marie, JoAnn, Arthur, Carol Ann Ann Marie kids: Patrick, Ashley JoAnn kid: Jenee' Arthur kids: Tyler, Brandon adopted daughter: Jennifer Carol Ann kids: Brieann, Anthony Shirley NO childere Lillian kids: Debra, Donna Debra kid: Kaleigh(?spelling)
Alice – married Walter Landry, kids Roland, Claudette, Suzanne Two other boys died in infancy.
Ida - married a man name Clark. Daughter Virginia (Ginger). They lived in Cranston, RI. Laura.- I know very little about her. I met her once. She lived in Narragansett near the park. Delia – Had a breakdown as a teenager and spent the rest of her life in and institution. My mother was the only one who kept in contact with her. She was fine but just couldn’t cope with the outside world
