Pendleton DNA Project

We now have 10 members in our Pendleton Y-DNA Project.

And with each new participant the results become even more interesting and valuable in tracing our ancestry.We invite other male Pendletons to join us to help unravel their particular history.It will be especially useful to those that have not yet found their connection to the main colonial Pendleton lines in America – testing would determine with a great deal of certainty if your line is connected with the descendants of Brian of New England, Philip of Virginia, or possibly even the Pasquotank NC Pendletons.

With only 10 participants we have found that…

§       The Y-DNA of the Brian Pendleton line of New England and the Philip Pendleton line of Virginia are very different providing clear evidence that these lines are not related (barring a non-paternity event back in 16th century Manchester, England).
§       Descendants of the 3 sons of Philip the Virginia immigrant show enough differences in Y-DNA results that should new results match we can determine which line a new participant is descended from.
§       We may have one Pasquotank NC Pendleton participant but we need test results from a known descendant of these Pendletons to be sure.If this conjecture holds then the Pasquotank Pendletons are closely related to Philip of Virginia.

For those wondering - my participation in the Pendleton DNA Project is strictly voluntary.My personal objective is to simply trace the Pendleton lines as completely and accurately as possible and Y-DNA testing holds great promise in that regard.
