Erin,
I greatly appreciate your favorable comments on my book.
But as to your family line...
I was able to glean from the information you provided on this post and your "Looking for Harvey" post that you are apparently descended from Micajah Pendleton (b. 1790).I believe it goes Micajah, James W., James D., James H. (your Harvey) b. 1891.
I didn't include this line in my book because the paper trail ends at Micajah. It seems likely this Micajah is a son of one of the Buckingham Co., VA Pendletons and therefore a descendant of Philip the immigrant but the connection has not been found.(There is also a chance he is descended from the Pasquotank NC Pendletons but that seems less likely).
This situation with Micajah is similar to other Pendleton lines that can be traced to Virginia but not to the Philip line. It seems to me that it is highly unlikely any documents will show up indicating the parents of Micajah and that the only way at this point to break through the brick wall is to use Y-DNA testing.
And that is why I have become involved in the Pendleton Y-DNA Program and invite others to join.
- best regards
