Re: Pengillys of Clovelly, Devonshire, Eng.
these two are in my family tree too, on my mother's side (I am a direct descendant).I'm hoping to discover something more than that they had just one son, who I know to be -
Farhquar Gordon Pengilly married Emily Victoria Hunt in 1925 in Myponga, South Australia.
their children were
Beatrice Pengilly and a stillborn twin
Leatrice (who married but had no offspring)
( Betty and Letty, as they were known are both now deceased)
Beatrice married Arthur Dick (also known as Arthur Enright)
the children of the marriage (I'm sorry I don't know many of the names, the dates of births or marriages until my generation)
Jillian (my mother)
and from a second marriage
- as stated Jillian Pengilly (she has taken this name) is my mother, married Darrold Cordes and I have two siblings Matthew and Alexandra. My sister has one child, a daughter, and I have five daughters. My aunt Susan had no chldren, Barbara had two, Rachel and Gordon. Rachel recently passed (no children) and Gordon andhis wife have four daughters.Robert and his wife had two children, but I have no knowledge of their lives.Theresa has a son. Most of the family now live on the East Coast of Australia, the family land around Aldinga, Myponga and Sellicks Hill having been sold in the 1960's.
I hope this helps - I know my grandmother Betty spent considerable time gathering information about the family tree but much of her property and personal belongings were scattered when she became unwell andleft her home suddenly for hospital care.Shesometimes made references to her early life on 'the land' and said people affectionately called her father 'Old Fark'.
feel free to contact me if I can offer any more help.
