This isn't a relative of mine, but her obit was on the page I copied for one of my relatives.Maybe it can help someone else.

Mr. Johonna Braatz, (nee Penn) was born Aug 6, 1833, at New Wedel, Germany, and passed away Dec. 2, at the home of her son, Wm. Braatz, in Springvale.

In 1857 she was married to William Braatz and the year following they came to America, settling in Canada.Later they came to Wisconsin, residing at Clyman, Dodge county for a time.In 1889 they moved to Brandon, purchasing the S. Weinstock residence on Bowen-st., where they lived until the death of Mr. Braatz, thirteen years ago, since which time she has made her home with her son.Nine children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Braatz, four of whom survive their parents, William, Charles and Julius, all of Springvale, and Emil of Des Moines, Iowa, and all of whom were present at the funeral.She is also survived by one sister, fourteen grandchildren and eleven greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services were held from the home on Thursday afternoon, Revs. F. Reichert and S. Olson of Brandon officiating.Interment was in the Brandon cemetery.
