Johnson's in your family

By Kay Hagness November 07, 2012 at 06:19:50

I have been looking for a break in my Johnson family tree and I see some names that are common in my family in yours. My grandfather was Charles Macajah Johnson. He was born in Kentucky in 1843, supposedly the youngest of 7 children. The names I have for his siblings are Nannie, Jim, Jane, Crit, Kitty and Cansada. The story goes on to say that his parents died and his grandparents raised him.He ran off to join the confederacy, becoming a soldier in the Orphan Brigade, signing up at Bowling Green. There is some idea that he fibbed on his age and was really a couple of years younger that stated. After the war he went to Texas, eventually ending up in southeastern Oklahoma. He died in 1926 and is buried at the cemetery in Nolia, OK.His father's name was Samuel and so was his grandfather's.I live in Wisconsin, so I struggle being where I need to research.Oh, I was also told that the first Samuel was born in Virginia. In all of your research have you come across anything that might set me on the likely path?Oh, it would be so exciting!
