William and Melvin Pennypacker/Penna.
I'm looking for information on a William (J.?) Pennypacker- stepson of Melvin Pennypacker as noted in 1910 PA Miracode census.William born Sept, 1899.Possibly he was born as William Strause- with is real father a William A. Strause. His mother Florence apparently divorced William Strause circa 1900, possibly remarrying Melvin Pennypacker, and bringing her son into the marraige. Two daughters- including my GM Mary M. Strause were raised by the STrause Grandparents. All contact was lost with mother Florence except for a small locket, her maiden name(s), the story of her leaving, but no mention of William Jr. or her subsequent life.Florence's mother appeared to be a (Mary) Emma Peacock- with whom she and William lived with in 1900.The mother also lived with the Pennypacker household in 1910.Have little to go on except the records and dates... Florence appears to have been born in NY circa 1878- she was quite young when she had my GM and Aunt Helen. .. Any help would be appreciated in putting together this family mystery.Florence also listed her maiden name as Sterling, but Peacock was her mother's name...either a second marraige herself or her own maiden name...
