Clarence Pennypacker m. Mary Paules

By genealogy.com user December 15, 1999 at 07:54:14

Hello Board,

I am searching for the parents of Granville Owings Pennypacker b. 1903 possibly in Pennsylvania (possibly Maryland). His father was Clarence Pennypacker dob. abt. 1870 to 1880. Clarence m. Mary Paules. I believe they were from Pennsylvania, but may have been Maryland. I believe they had relatives in both of these states.

I have a copy of the reunion letter from the 1880 era in which a family reunion was being held. Clarence Pennypacker's father was the likely recipient of this letter unless Clarence was born earlier than I am estimating.

Granville Owings Pennypacker's middle name may have a connection with Owings Mills in Maryland. Mom thinks he was named for that town. Perhaps an ancestor was prominent in the area. Clarence and Mary divorced at some point. Granville (Penny, as he was called by all) was their only child. Penny had one son who is still living.

Any help in locating Clarence Pennypacker and his family would be greatly appreciated. I would like to find his place of birth, birth and death dates and where he is buried. Naturally, it would be terrific to also find Clarence's parents.

I know nothing further about Mary Paules except that she remarried a Laycock/Lacock and was a very quiet gentile lady. I knew her when I was a child. She lived her last years with Penny (Granville Owings) and his wife, my Mom. She lived at least into her seventies and may have been in her eighties when she passed on. I remember her smile distinctly.

Thanks again for any assistance.
