Re: Price Penuel, b. ca. 1768, parenatage?
Thank you so much for the information. I haven't seen these records. I thought that the parents of Price et al, had moved to Carteret from possibly Delaware or Maryland and died relatively young soon after arrival. Could the mother have re-married? Could Thomas Britton be their step- father of perhaps uncle?
You are probably right that the guardianship records for Price have been lost, because he surely would have been a minor at the time.
My reason for assuming that Edith was his sister is that desendants say her name was "Pennywell". She was from North Carolina and named a son Penuel Folsom. He lost his life in the Indian War. In his lifetime, he was usually Penuel, but afterwards he is listed as Pennywell Folsom.
Any ideas about who Rachel married?
Can you give the names of the apprentices of Price Penuel? Might be a clue.
I come from Elizabeth Jane Penuel, daughter of George and Elizabeth Small Penuel. She married Capt. Henry Bartlett Grace. Their daughter, Elizabeth Virginia "Jenny" Grace married Jasper Newton Williams, my great grandparents.
All of them are buried in Marvin Chapel Cemetery, Graceville, Jackson County Florida
Thanks again for your help.
