Re: Perkinson Family History Book
I just looked over my material and at this time I believe John who d. by Feb 1736 Henrico Co. is father of the William who d. ca 1778 in Chesterfield Co.John's wofe was Elizabeth Jackson, d/o Ralph Jackon. His children in the order listed in his will were John, William, Dniel & Ralph.
From the 1736 will we know william was an adult and living with his own family, not in his parent's home, therefore he was a adult est. b. bef. 1715.
His brother John had a son (prob. 2nd child) Francis b. 5 Aug 1721 in Bristol Parish. Therefore John was b. bef. 1700,probably lat 1690s.If the preceding is correct, William would than have been b. est. in the 1690s also.
Regarding your mention of a Hatton connection with Southern Maryland. That has been the area where I did research for more than 20 years and I checked a bit in my large MD library and found a few Hattons in St. Mary's Co.To have a marriage or connection between a Tidewater family and a Southern Maryland family, it would probably have taken place after the colonial period.People who left So. MD, especially the rich Catholics, went west to KY and MO. As land grew more scarce in MD, there was migration to the Carolinas and Georgia or Southwestern VA.Elise
