Obituary for Haskel Howard Pethel
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2004, in the chapel of McDonald and Rogers Funeral Home for Mr. Haskel Pethel, 89, of Gainesville.
The Rev. Dean Bryant will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Pethel died Monday, Aug. 16, 2004.
A native and lifelong resident of Hall County, Mr. Pethel was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Myrtle U. Pethel. He was a self-employed contractor and builder and worked for Davis Washington Lumber Co. in Gainesville before retiring. Mr. Pethel was a member of Community Baptist Church.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Charles H. Pethel and Robert and Inez Pethel, all of Gainesville, John Wesley and Martha Pethel, Danielsville, and Billy Joseph and Gloria Pethel, Cleveland; sisters and brothers-in-law, Minnie Hix and Virginia and Jimmy Lewallen, all of Gainesville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald H. and Mary Lou Pethel and Austin and Lessie Pethel, all of Gainesville; seven grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
