Levi Phillips Rev. War Soldier & Levi Phillips Rev. War Soldier
Does anyone know the connection between Levi Phillips, b 1751 in Cecil CO MD to Ruebin and Catherine Phillips, and Levi Phillips born about 1746 (according to his grave marker) probably in VA. Both served in the Rev. War, and both ended up in GA after the war.My gg-grandfather, Levi Phillips from VA served in the 2nd. VA Cont. Line, enlisting for 3 years, in Leesburgh VA in 1777.At the end of his service, he married Barbara Hough in GA, and had a large family there, before moving to Pickens CO SC about 1815.
Both of these Levi Phillips' are listed in the 1800 Ogelthorpe CO GA census. Then in 1820 Pickens CO SC census, Levi and Barbara Phillips are listed, along withtheir son, Levi JR and other of their married chilren. There are Phillips' families living close by, among them being Ruebin Phillips, Jonas Phillips, and Richard Phillips, who are not children of Levi and Barbara. These names indicate that they are of the family of the other Rev. War soldier, Levi Phillips who remained in GA and died there a few years before my Levi Phillips Rev. War soldier died in SC.
Does anyone have verified information which connects these two Levi Phillips'?
