Re: Martin Philo
Barbara- I believe that Martha Beemer and Adams Philo (parents of Martin) married in Falls Twp., Luzerne Co., PA. At least this is where the Beemers lived, which is now Newton Twp., Lackawanna Co, PA.At first I had the husband of Martha as W. Philo, but later learned from a dau's obit that his name was Adams Philo. He must have died between close to 1848/9.It is said he died in Lower Sandusky Co., OH. The 1840 Census Lyme, Huron Co., OH shows an Adams Philo: 1 male, 30-40; 1 male 10-15; 1 male under 5 and Females: 1, 30-40; 1, 10-15; 1, 5-10 and 1 under 5. That is 5 children and I have names of 5: Ward; Jane; Martin; Eliza/Elizabeth M; & Henry Philo.I don't know which Co., in Oh. Martin was born in.The family is found in the 1850 Census Sandusky, Sandusky Co., OH; 1860 Census Salem, Ottawa Co., OH. Regardin Martin and Henry A. Philo in 1880 Census, Blissfield, Lenawee Co., MI. following are place I located Martin in:
Jan 11, 1901: Blissfield, MI; 8 Jul 1905, Hollaway, MI; 10 Sep. 1921, Monroe, MI.I found Ward Philo in 1905, Flint, Jackson Twp., Steuben Co, IN. Hopefully something here might help you.You may e-mail me directly if you wish. Nice to hear from you.Dorothy A.
