Re: Piehls (Joachim and Henry) of Milwaukee, WI 1873
I don't think these families are directly related.
In the Milwaukee city directory 1885, there is a Louis Piehl, lab. r. 823 Humboldt ave. and again in the 1900 directory as a porter with home r. 612 Hadley.Louis shows up in the 1900, 1910, 1920, and 1930 census, and is already married to Minnie, with quite a few kids. The 1900 census has Louis born in Wisconsin in 1866, and Minnie was born in Germany 1871, and came to the US in 1880.They were married around 1880.The Hadley address matches the city directory for 1900, but the census has Louis working in a carpet store.Gordon shows up in the 1920 census.
I was not able to find Louis Piehl's parents which might connect to my Piehls. However, I don't have a Louis Piehl in the known families.
I forgot to mention there was another group of Piehls in Kenosha, (with a Louis, but I don't think related to either of us), and in Chicago.
