Anna Piehl of Milwaukee, WI (more detail Kressin,Kuenn)
Frederick Piehl born 1837 in Neu Stuer ,and died tragically by having his head crushed in a train accident, 2/12/1884, (possible parents Adam Wilhelm Piehl and Sophia Jens). Frederick was married to Lisetta Gabel. It appears they arrived in 1872.
I am still trying to find the ship listing but it would appear Frederick, Lisetta, Anna, and Ida came over on the ship together. William was born just after they arrived. William married Mary Krieter as indicated, and had Ernestine and Erma.
My Great Grandfather August Kressin married Anna Piehl, and when she died in 1919, he married Ida Piehl in 1920. And to make it more interesting, Emilie Hinzpeter who was August Kressin's mother (and was widowed from Carl Cressien/Kressin in Germany), married, (1884), Frederick Piehl after Lisetta died in 1879. When Frederick died she married a Wolf Spitz, (who also had a tragic death). She ended up living from 1842 for around 87 very tough years!
So here is my question.... on Anna Piehl and August Kressin's Marriage certificate the witnesses are William Piehl and Johann Piehl. William is obviously her brother, so who is Johann Piehl???
Ida Piehl is likely buried with her husband William Kuenn, and her obituary says Evergreen cemetery in Milwaukee.
Has anyone seen her gravesite?
