Thank you for the response.Unfortunately I have just started researching The Piggott's so I have very little information on George or any of them.Mostly I have what my mom has told me. But from what you have found already the Piggott's seem like quite a bunch of characters!
My line though goes like this.
George Washington and Catherine Allen Howland Piggott Nathan and Abbie Ann Piggott Slater Daniel Carlos and Abbie Rowena Slater Johnson James Woodford and Abbie Ann Johnson Grant Chester O. and Betty Ann Grant Born Cindy Ann Born-Mylo
My mom said The Piggott's and the Slater's weren't spoken about too much other than George Washington and Catherine Piggott came over in one of Brigham Young's wagon trains and settled in Salt Lake. There was some rift either with Abbie A. and Nathan or Abbie R. and Daniel about the multiple marriages and they broke up and then one of the Abbie's had a falling out with the Moroman Church.James and Abbie moved to San Francisco when my mom Betty was 3 (approx 1926).I was born and raised there.
I had not heard anything about the Black Hawk War and the Family has always said that all of Abbie Ann Piggott's things went to the Church when she died in 1928 so I don't know where the artifacts are.The Daughter's of the Pioneer's in Salt Lake has (or maybe had by now) Abbie Ann Piggott's diary I think of when she made the trip across country - I saw it many years ago when we visited but I never read any of it. I need to get my information together to prove that I am a relative so I can have access to it.
I'm rambling now but its fun to share this history.I would be happy to share what information I have on my branch.I would be very interested too in seeing the information you have on George and Sarah Hull Piggott. That might help me get started.Contact me via my email address if you would like to correspond further.
