Re: Joseph Pilote & Anasthasie Tremblay : erreur d'ascendance
In the genealogy published by Georges-Renaud Pilote concerning Joseph PILOTE (V-5 p. 100) married to Anasthasie TREMBLAY, the lineage is not correct. The lineage given was based on Fr. Eloi-Gerard Talbot, who wrongly attributedCharles Pilote & Gertrude Tremblay as parents of Joseph. Unfortunately, many genealogists reproduced the erroneous lineage.
The errors comes from the fact the marriage records was confusing, as it gives two sets of parents to the bride !
But, as a matter of fact, Charles Pilote (V-7 p. 101), father of de Joseph (V-5 p. 100), is mentionned as witnessing his son's wedding, as well as his mother Victoire GAUTHIER (Gonthier), also mentionned in the record.
So, the real ancestry of Joseph Pilote is :
Joseph PILOTE (Charles & Victoire GAUTHIER ou Gonthier) (V-5 p. 100)
m. 13 Oct. 1788 Les Éboulements
Anasthasie TREMBLAY (Joseph & Anasthasie Savard)
The descendants of this couple shall correct their line as follows :
Joseph (V-7 p. 101), Charles (V-5 p. 100), Ambroise (IV-1 p. 87), Charles (III-12 p. 83), Jean (II-9 p. 70), Léonard PILOTE.
